TikTok attracts young users, the secret to its rise

TikTok is a short video product owned by ByteDance. TikTok is operated by an American company headquartered in Culver City. Up to now, TikTok has been basically independent from its parent company, ByteDance’s Chinese business Douyin. According to the report, TikTok’s US user base increased by 97.5% in 2019; it will increase by 21.9% in 2020, reaching 45.4 million; this number will exceed 50 million in 2021. TikTok has attracted a large number of users, especially children and teenagers.
In March 2020, a report by the data company Sensor Tower showed that in the four quarters of 2019, except for the second quarter, TikTok fell to the top three thrones by one place, and the remaining three quarters ranked “the world’s most downloaded apps. The top three in the list, this list combines the global Apple and Google app stores. In the separate data list of the Apple Store, TikTok ranked first in the “World’s Most Downloaded App List” in the first, third, and fourth quarters of 2019.
